Thousands of believers are robbed of their joy and undermined in their authority because they are deceived as to the nature of the Holy Spirit and His ministry. "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light". (2Corinthians 11:14).
In preparing his disciples for His death Jesus explained the ministry of the Holy Spirit and it is contrary to what is understood by many.
In John16:7 Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as "the Comforter". His ministry to the believer is to guide them into all truth, not with his own words but with the words of God and to show them things to come and all to the glory of Jesus. (verses 13-15).
To the unbelievers (the world) He reproves.(verses8-11).
The one who accuses the believer before God is the devil and he does so day and night.(Revelation12:10).
To conclude, if the Holy Spirit is convicting you of sin REPENT! The power and authority of God is upon you! if however, you confess the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead; and yet, you feel condemned, it is the Devil is accusing you; be angry and don't give place to him.(Ephesians 4:26-27).
